If there’s one place that truly looks like a postcard in real life, it’s Switzerland. Snow-covered mountains, crystal-clear lakes, scenic train rides, and dreamy little towns—this country feels like something out of a storybook. I recently spent 6 days traveling through Switzerland, and every moment felt magical.
Let me take you through my journey.
Day 1: Zurich – A Stylish Start
I landed in Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland, and instantly fell in love with its clean streets, modern vibe, and peaceful lakefront. I strolled through Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world’s most exclusive shopping streets, and ended the day by Lake Zurich with a sunset boat ride.
Day 2: Lucerne – Bridges, Lakes & Mountains
Lucerne felt like stepping into a medieval painting. I walked across the famous Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), admired the Lion Monument, and took a cruise on Lake Lucerne. In the afternoon, I took a cable car up Mt. Pilatus—the view of the Alps from the top was simply unforgettable.
Day 3: Interlaken – The Adventure Hub
Known as the gateway to the Alps, Interlaken is all about adventure. I tried paragliding over Lake Thun—it was scary at first but gave me the best view of the lakes and mountains below. If you’re not into thrill rides, even just walking by the lakes is pure joy.
Day 4: Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe
This was the highlight of my trip. I took the train up to Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest railway station. The journey through snowy tunnels and the view from the top (3,454 meters!) made me feel like I was standing on the roof of the world. Don’t miss the Ice Palace and the Alpine Sensation experience!
Day 5: Zermatt – The Matterhorn Magic
Zermatt is a car-free village known for the iconic Matterhorn Mountain (yes, the one on the Toblerone chocolate box!). I took the Gornergrat Bahn train for the best views. The peaceful streets, cozy chalets, and fresh mountain air made Zermatt my favorite stop.
Day 6: Geneva – Lakeside Elegance
On my last day, I visited Geneva. Known for its global appeal and French-speaking charm, I enjoyed walking by Lake Geneva, visiting the Jet d’Eau, and exploring the Old Town. I ended my trip with a sunset by the lake, thinking how perfect this entire journey had been.
