Sometimes, all you need is a short break to recharge your soul—and Rishikesh is the perfect place for that. Just a few hours away from Delhi, this holy town in Uttarakhand offers a unique blend of spiritual calm and adrenaline rush.
I recently spent a weekend in Rishikesh, and here’s how it went:
Day 1: Ganga Aarti & Local Vibes
As soon as I arrived, I checked into a peaceful riverside hostel near Laxman Jhula. The energy of this town is unmatched—monks chanting, the scent of incense, and cafes filled with travelers from all over the world.
In the evening, I attended the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat. Watching the river shimmer under hundreds of diyas and hearing the aarti echo in the air gave me goosebumps.
Day 2: Adventure Day – White Water Rafting & Cliff Jumping
If you visit Rishikesh and don’t try rafting, you’re missing out! I signed up for a 16 km stretch of white water rafting—and what a thrill it was! Rapids like “Roller Coaster” and “Golf Course” gave me an adrenaline rush like never before.
We also did cliff jumping into the Ganga—it’s scary but unforgettable.
Day 3: Yoga, Cafes & Soul Searching
Rishikesh is also known as the Yoga Capital of the World. I attended a morning yoga session at a local ashram, followed by a healthy breakfast at The Beatles Café. The view of the river and hills while sipping coffee was the kind of peace I didn’t know I needed.
Before leaving, I visited Neer Garh Waterfall, a short trek but a beautiful spot to sit, think, and breathe.
